Exercise for weight loss
If you wish to reduce your excess weight, concentrate on increasing the number of exercises instead of your diet. A recent research was done using two groups of inactive men, one group in their 20′s and the other over age 65. A lot was learned from this accumulated information and it is interesting to note that generally there was a important link between absence of physical activity and excess weight. Not surprisingly, the majority of inactive men had the most body fat.
These research has even indicated that the governments current recommended daily intake for calories does not correlate with the human body’s actual energy needs. For example, while 2400 calories were estimated for older men, they in fact burned an average of 2800 calories daily.
The leading specialists now suggest that those who wish to lose weight start increasing their physical activity. Just being more active generally (for example going up the the stairs instead of using the elevator, walking around instead of sitting still, sitting upright instead of lying down along with expressing excitement and enthusiasm rather than boredom), are things that better burns calories and reduces body fat. Consider this, a half-hour aerobic workout makes up much less energy spending than our every day movement at work or at home.
A lot of people are trying to lose weight, spending approximately $30 billion a year on diet programs and products, often they do lose some weight. However, if you check with the same people couple of years later, you will notice that almost all have got back whatever weight they lost. A national panel recently sought data to discover if any commercial diet program could prove long-term success. Not a single program could do so.Being really overweight and particularly obesity predisposes people to a variety of disorders and serious health problems, and it’s now a known proven fact that when calorie consumption is excessive, some of the excess usually is saturated fat.
People who diet without exercising often get heavier over time. While your weight may initially drop while dieting, this kind of weight loss consists mostly of water and muscle. When the weight returns, it comes back as fat. To prevent getting heavier over time, increase your metabolism by exercising regularly.
Walking is one of the best exercises for strengthening bones, managing weight, toning the leg muscles, maintaining good posture and improving positive self-concept. To lose weight, it’s more important to walk for time than speed. Walking at a moderate pace yields longer workouts with less soreness – leading to more distance and more fat worked off regularly.
In terms of good health and weight loss, the diet and exercise are inter-related. Work out without a well-balanced diet is no more beneficial than dieting while remaining inactive.
